head
in the clouds
I've been accused many times over the years
of having my head in the clouds. At times it's just to be somewhere
other than where I am, but often it's a longing for something
greater; something higher, better, beyond what I know or can
know.
That's one of the things that I love the best
about my years as a rock climber - being so high up, above
everything, sometimes even above the clouds. When you look
down from such heights, everything appears in the most intense
clarity, like it's just been washed clean.
It's not such a bad thing, having one's head
in the clouds. Sometimes it's the only way to rise above the
weather of the day. |
